4-H Youth EntiresWe are eagerly anticipating the upcoming 2023 Swain County Agricultural Fair. What can you expect?

A traditional county fair style festival, complete with 4-H livestock judging, 4-H arts/crafts, 4-H food preservation and 4-H baked goods (youth only), educational booths, craft vendors, and local food trucks. There will also be judging categories for fresh fruits & vegetables, eggsflowers, and honey entries.

We have the entertainment line-up for this year nailed down, including a local Appalachian clogging team, the Dixie Darlin’ Cloggers from Haywood County. We’ve even got a pretty stellar line-up of live music planned all day long. Starting with the Battle of the Bands, competitors from the area will take the stage at 11:00 a.m. vying for prize money. The line up of bands include: Outlaw WhiskeySomebody’s ChildNick Mac & the NoiseD.S.F. Earth Corps and Tribe Called Praise. And to close out the evening,  hailing straight out of Nashville, The Wood Box Heroes. Check out their bios! Each band member has an incredible list of accomplishments. They take the stage at 4:30 p.m.

The Swain County Agricultural Fair is a place where people in the community can proudly display their handiwork, youth can demonstrate their hard work and commitment in the livestock judging category, and gardeners can show off their harvest. It is the place to highlight the best of the best, and as always, the winning ribbon comes with bragging rights!

Canned an Baked goods

How can you be involved in the Swain County Agricultural Fair? Exhibits are one of the most interesting and educational aspects of the fair. Consider entering your handiwork, canned goods, fresh vegetables, or other items to the fair for judging. The fair is a great place to show off your talents.

We encourage you to come out, bring your friends and neighbors and enjoy the day with us. Stroll through the exhibits and admire the crafts and vendors, listen to some live music and watch the cloggers perform. You might even decide that next year, you want to enter an item for judging.

We look forward to seeing you and with your support, we believe that this year’s fair will be the biggest and best ever.
