Celebrate Agriculture This Weekend at Local Events
The annual youth livestock show and ag fair are scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, September 23 and 24. The 4-H Youth Livestock Show will be held at Circle G Arena in Lilesville, while the Anson Ag Fair will be at the Extension Center in Wadesboro.
Starting on Thursday, fair entries will be received at the Cooperative Extension Center on McLaurin Street from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Judging will take place on Friday, with the show open to the public on Saturday.
Livestock weigh-in begins Friday afternoon with the goat show that evening. Heifers and lambs will be shown on Saturday. The weekend’s festivities kick off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Friday’s schedule includes:
Goat Show Weigh-In, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
4-H Youth Goat Show, 6:00 p.m.
Saturday will include:
Heifer Show Check-In, 8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
4-H Youth Heifer Show, 10:00 a.m.
Lamb Weigh-In, 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
4-H Youth Lamb Show, Immediately Following Heifer Show
Food will be offered in the concession area at Circle G Arena in Lilesville by Little’s Catering of Morven. They will be serving hot dogs, snacks and drinks.
Ag Fair viewing will be at the Extension Center in Wadesboro on Saturday, September 24 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Celebrate Anson Agriculture t-shirts are on sale now for youth and adult sizes, $6 and $8, and will be on sale during the fair at the Extension office.
